Super Fun Craft Projects for a Rainy Weekend

It’s supposed to rain all weekend! Stay sane with these super fun craft ideas.

Supplies

2 cups Elmer’s Glue
1 and 1/4 cup Warm Water
Food Coloring
3 tsp Borax
2 bowls

Directions

  1. Mix together the glue, 1/4 cup warm water, and food coloring.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix together borax and 1 cup warm water.
  3. Pour the glue mixture into the borax mixture.
  4. Once it’s formed, knead it together.
  5. PLAY!
  6. Store in an airtight container.

Supplies

Large Elbow Macaroni
Foam or Paper Plate
Bag of Cotton Balls
Twine or other stiff string
Water Based Paint (Such as Poster Paint)
Be sure to get rainbow colors – Red, Orange, Yellow, Blue, Purple)
Buttons or Beads
Tape or glue
Scissors

Directions

  1. Lay out newspaper or craft paper and use a brush to pain the macaroni in various rainbow colors. Suggest one fine coat. Allow to dry. Paint about 20-30 macaroni.
  2. Create the rainbow by cutting 5 pieces of string 5-6 inches long. Tie a button or bead to one end of each string. Create your rainbow by stringing the macaroni on each string.
  3. Cut a paper place in half and punch or poke 5 holes along the straight edge. Feed one string through each hole and tie is off on the other side so it stays in the hole. If you’d like, use a bead to hold the rainbow string on the plate.
  4. Create a cloud by gluing or taping the cotton balls onto the paper place.
  5. Enjoy your rainbow!

Markers, Paint or Crayons
Glitter, buttons, beads or other decor
Pipecleaners
Tape or glue
Scissors

Directions

  1. Cut each paper plates in half.
  2. Decorate the plates using the markers, glitter, etc.
  3. Shape the pipe cleaner into a J and tape or glue is on the plate like an umbrella handle.
