Shenandoah Valley Head Start & Early Head Start (SVHS & EHS) provides a comprehensive child development program serving children and families in school-based and community-based settings. Head Start is a full-day, school-based preschool program serving children 3-5 years old in the Cities of Harrisonburg, Staunton, and Waynesboro, and in the Counties of Augusta, Bath, Highland, and Rockingham. Early Head Start is a community-based program for children 6 weeks-3 years providing full day, full year services with centers located in Waynesboro and Verona. Both programs focus on child and family development and promote school readiness through classroom instruction and family engagement. Comprehensive services support child development and education, family engagement, health and wellness, safety, and social and emotional development. We believe in open lines of communication and our services promote lasting connections.

Ages: 6 weeks – 5 years old

Applications are accepted and reviewed year-round and students are accepted as vacancies become available. Once we receive your application, we will contact you to set up a time to review the application and collect required paperwork. Families interested in the 2019-20 school year should apply as soon as possible.
